Window Condensation: How To Prevent It
Have you noticed that you are experiencing a lot of interior window condensation? This is a very common problem; however, it is easily correctable. Here are a few ways you can fight your window condensation this summer!
Use Exhaust Fans
If you want to cut down on the interior window condensation in your home, you should use the fans for around the house. Every time you take a shower, you should have a fan turned on. This is because by taking a shower, you are putting a lot of moisture into the air. In many cases, this moisture has difficulty dispersing throughout the house and results in condensation on your windows. The same can be said about kitchen fans when you are using the stove or oven. Whenever you cook or bathe, you should allow your fans to run around 30 minutes after to help remove the excess moisture from the air.
Use Ceiling Fans
Sometimes, the best way to cut down condensation inside of your home is to simply turn on your ceiling fans. By circulating the air inside of the room, you are helping to disperse the moisture in the air. Don’t be afraid to use your ceiling fans throughout the entire year. There is no reason why you should be hesitant to turn on your ceiling fans during the fall or winter months.
Open Your Windows
If you are experiencing interior condensation is may just be that you need to release some of the moist air by opening up your windows. This is an excellent option during the spring and summer months because it will also allow some fresh air into your home.
Invest In A Dehumidifier
A dehumidifier is an excellent tool for removing moisture from the air. The downside to going this route is that the bigger models can be a little pricey. However, you still have the option to purchase one of the smaller models instead. There are some dehumidifiers that actually turn on on their own when the humidity level has reached a certain point.
